Choosing a venue for mehendi, haldi, sangeet or a reception? This checklist covers the questions families and wedding planners should ask before booking.
Wedding functions bring two families together, often over several days. The right venue makes everything easier — for the families, the guests and the planners running the show. Use this checklist when you shortlist venues.
01Always start with a site visit
Photos help, but nothing replaces walking the space. During a site visit, check:
- Where each function will happen — lawns, poolside, indoor rooms
- How guests will arrive, park and move around
- Where the stage, mandap, food counters and sound will go
- Washrooms and changing rooms for the family
At Shree Villa & Resort, capacity, layout and arrangements are confirmed after a site visit for every large event — so the plan is based on your actual function, not a guess. Request a site visit.

02Ask about guest capacity — honestly
A venue's "maximum capacity" depends on the layout, seating style, safe movement and parking. Share your expected guest count for each function separately; a haldi is very different from a reception.
03Parking and traffic
For larger functions, ask:
- How many cars can park on-site?
- Who will manage parking on the day?
- Is there space for buses or tempo travellers?
04Food and the venue's policy
Many families prefer a pure vegetarian celebration. Shree Villa is a strictly vegetarian and alcohol-free property, and Jain food can be arranged in advance — which many families see as an advantage. Make sure your caterer and menu fit the venue's policy. See food & dining.
05Vendors: decor, sound, photography
Ask whether you can bring your own decorators, tent house, sound and photography teams, and what timings apply for setup and clearing. Planners should share their vendor list early.
06Stay for the families
Having the families stay at or near the venue makes early-morning functions much easier. Shree Villa has four bedrooms and two living rooms, and tent-style rooms for wedding guests are coming soon.
